AboutFood for Health was founded by Jo Johnson in 2004. Based near Colchester in North Essex and serving North Essex and South Suffolk.
At Food for Health we look at the individual and tailor a diet and lifestyle plan to suit your unique needs. As with clothes, not all styles suit everybody and the same applies to the food we eat. Our own genetic pattern determines how well (or not) our digestive systems work and the blend of our gut microflora (the friendly bacteria that live within our digestive tract) plays a vital role in the way we digest our food and absorb and use the valuable nutrients within our food, are as unique as our fingerprints. Food for health will carry out a detailed analysis of your diet and lifestyle. You will need to complete a food diary over a period of 5 days. The main services offered by Food for Health Ltd are individual consultations which look at diet, lifestyle and the individuals unique health requirements. |
About Nutritional Therapy
Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care. Registered Nutrition Practitioners use a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns. This approach allows them to work with individuals to address nutritional balance and help support the body towards maintaining health. Nutritional Therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine and is relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking for support to enhance their health and well being.
Practitioners never recommend nutritional therapy as a replacement for medical advice and always refer any client with ‘red flag’ signs or symptoms to their medical professional. They will also frequently work alongside a medical professional and will communicate with other healthcare professionals involved in the client’s care to explain any nutritional therapy programme that has been provided.
